WASHINGTON, Oct. 29—Coalition to Save Local Businesses Executive Director Michael Layman released the statement below after HR 3459, Protecting Local Business Opportunity Act, passed out of the U.S. House Education and the Workforce Committee and will be referred to the floor of the House of Representatives

“There are few things more fundamental to the future of job creation and the growth of a healthy economy than the definition of ’employer.’ The Washington bureaucrats at the NLRB have attacked small businesses across America and their countless business relationships by unnecessarily redefining what it means to be an employer. This is why local business owners and their employees are so thankful to Chairman John Kline, Congressman Phil Roe and the members of the committee who showed leadership in responding to the NLRB’s nonsensical activism by approving the bipartisan ‘Protecting Local Business Opportunity Act.'”
